IDC's Global Delivery Index (GDI) ranks locations according to a series of criteria that include the skill sets available, the political environment in the country and the cost of labor. Based on calculations by the index, Bangalore ranks #1 as the most favored BPO destination in Asia, followed by Manila, the Philippine capital, and Shanghai in China is currently ranked #7.
With Chinese cities making consistent improvement and considerable investments in crucial factors such as infrastructure, command over English language, Internet connectivity, and overall standard of life, outsourcing services to China seems like a very attractive bet.
